Keepin’ it Real Thursday {Keepin’ It Comfortable | Sacramento Newborn Photographer}

Sorry I missed a couple Thursdays… clients do have to come first and I have been busy with sessions and editing!!!  Just wanted to share a shot of me taken at the very end of a session by my client (thank you Missy!).  I wanted to show you how I look at the end of a session.  Comfort is a big thing for me when photographing newborns- for me and for them.  I dress like I am going to a yoga class…. a HOT yoga class actually!   I feel the more comfortable I am, the better my energy, the better the baby will react with/for me.  It may sound all hippy-ish, but I believe newborns pick up our energy.   If you are uncomfortable, nervous, rushed, scared- they feel that and your I believe the resulting work will suffer.  If you are confident, relaxed, comfortable- they will feel that too and it will help things go smoother!  Once I stopped trying to be all cute for my newborn sessions, something changed/clicked/worked.  I wear minimal makeup (I will sweat it off anyways since I like it to be around 80 degrees) and literally wear yoga clothes.  Now 80 degrees is not comfortable for me- but the newbies like it since they are in their birthday suites the majority of the session.

So here I am- post session.  Shiny and sweaty with flokati fuzz on my pants and a little baby poo on my shirt.  Typical and I love every second of it 🙂

And here is one of the resulting shots from this set up prior me handing my camera over to mom…

Thanks for stopping by!!! ; -)
